Civil Junction is a great addition to Islamabad's popular food spots. It is located in Sector F-7/3's famous Gol Market. It offers good coffee and an interesting array of drinks and 'mocktails'. Light snacks are also offered along with coffee and drinks, and are generally of good quality. The prices are very reasonable and their tongue-in-cheek menu is a piece of art. The place offers occasional live music from upcoming local bands, making it a popular hangout with the youth of the city.

    Jahangir's is one of the most popular local restaurant chains in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Its delicious local or 'desi' items and barbecue are a treat, garnering it lots of appreciation from food lovers. Their prices, service and quality are exceptional, and a very large variety of cuisine makes for a very pleasant meal. Known for their mastery of Pakistani and Indian specialties, Jahangir is definitely a must-visit restaurant.

    Melody Food Park

    Melody Food Park is, in essence, an outdoor food court offering a huge variety of cuisines, from the cheap meat rice, 'pulao', to the high-end Italian food of Pappasallis. The seating area is sufficient and the quality of service decent, with the price ranging anywhere from Rs. 65 (around $1) to about Rs. 400 (around $6.50). The atmosphere is homely and the environs clean and well-kept.

    Kitchen Cuisine and KC Grill

    Kitchen Cuisine initially opened up as a takeaway bakery, offering some of the best sweet and savories in the market. Having been successful at their attempts in carving out a niche in the food market, they have now opened up a café and full fledged restaurant, offering some sumptuous delicacies from across the world, including Greek salads, flame-grilled barbeque, Italian pizzas, spicy Indian curries and hearty Celtic stews and soups. Slightly on the expensive side, this eatery is one strictly for the food connoisseur.

    The oldest, most renowned restaurant in the capital city, Pappasallis is a tried and tested favorite of the local populace. Initially serving only Italian, the eatery now serves up a brilliant and absolutely delicious assortment of the best food Islamabad has to offer. Their salad bar is especially scrumptious, offering some of the widest and best varieties in the market. The one place in the city, perhaps also in the country, where they really know how to make and serve pasta. A visit to Islamabad without visiting Pappasallis is like visiting Paris without visiting the Champs-Elysees.

    A trendy new addition to the restaurant scene in the city, Cinnamon is fast acquiring a very good reputation as being one of the hippest places to eat. The décor is absolutely superb, with clashing black and white motifs and photographs, and the service and quality of food equally brilliant. The perfect place to have a quiet albeit slightly expensive family dinner.

    One of the oldest coffee and ice cream parlors in the city, Yummy's has now grown into a nation-wide chain. The ice cream menu is comprehensive and decent, while the service and cleanliness are very good. An interesting place to hang out with friends.
