Islamabad: April 16, 2012. The Development work being carried out in Sector I-11 of Islamabad be expedited so that the allottees of the Sector waiting for their dream houses since last 22 years could start the construction activities.
Chairman, Prime Minister’s Task Force on Islamabad , Faisal Sakhi Butt directed the relevant formations of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) during visit of the Sector I-11 to inspect the development work underway in the area. Director General Planning, CDA, Ghulam Sarwar Sindhu, DDG, Municipal Administration, Mansoor Ahmed Khan, Director Lands , Capt ® Farid ud Din Mustafa and other concerned officers were present during the visit. A number of affectees and allottees of the area also met the Chairman, Prime Minister’s Task Force and deliberated on the issues of the Sector.
Fiasal Sakhi Butt said that CDA has initiated development process in this Sector on the directions of the Task Force which is instrumental towards the rapid development of the Sectors stalled since last two decades. He said that this Sector was also facing the problems of encroachment and katchi abadis which must be removed at the earliest to extend the development activities in all parts of the Sector. He directed Director Enforcement to plan comprehensive strategy for carrying out operation to remove the katchi abadis and illegal occupants to facilitate the expedious development. He was apprised that CDA is collaborating with the concerned organizations for shifting of the katchi abadis and also the concerned formations of CDA are working for the allotment of plots to the affeectees and paying them the compensation at the earliest. Chairman, Prime Minister’s Task Force also held a meeting with the delegation of the allottees who appreciated the role of the Task Force for commencing the development activites in the Sector. He was apprised that low income employees were allotted plots some twenty two years back; however, the development activities could not be carried out by the Authority. He said that on the intervention of the Task Force, development activities would be carried out in all the stalled sectors including Sector I-11 and the issues with the affectees are being settled down amicably. He told that the affectees of this sector have already been allotted plots in the Sector I-12.
The locals of the area informed the Chairman, Prime Minister’s Task Force about their problems on which he directed the Lands Directorate of CDA to review these problems for their amicable and early solution. He said that on the directions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the task force has been working for resolving the chronic issues, initiating public welfare measures and help execute the public welfare oriented mega projects in the city. He said that for the first time, suggestions of the locals and residents of the Federal Capital are being incorporated in the development process of the City.
